Overview

The Imperative mode is used to give an order, to tell someone to do something or to advise someone. This mode can only be used with five gramatical persons: tú, usted, nosotros, vosotros, and ustedes.

Let's look at a few examples:

: ¡Comete el pollo!
Eat the chicken!

Usted: ¡Camine más despacio!
Walk slower!

Nosotros: ¡Hablemos de los problemas del país!
Let's talk about the country's problems!

Vosotros: ¡Venid el domingo!
You all come on Sunday!

Ustedes: ¡Hablen con su madre!
You all talk to your mother!
