The verb salir (conjugation) means "to leave" or "to go out". It is irregular in the present tense. The ending ir changes to go in the (yo) form (first person singular).

Yo salgo con el maestro.
I leave with the teacher.

Él sale en el carro.
He goes out in the car.

Nosotros salimos con el niño.
We go out with the boy.

Ellos salen al teatro.
They go out to the theater.

salir is most frequently used to mean “to go out of” or “to leave” a physical place. When the place is added, the preposition de must be used.

Ella sale de la iglesia.
She goes out of the church.

Note that salir may also be used to mean "go out" with someone as on a date.

Tú sales con Pedro.
You are going out with Pedro.
